Roots and dreams, a fresh look at the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region

Based on “BALSAC population database”, this permanent exhibition renewed in 2012 will take you from colonization to population genetics. You will discover regional history, genealogy, industrialization and many other facets of this population.

Panache :  caribous and other cervids

Until January 8th, 2017

Emblems of the vast Canadian boreal forest, cervidae have forever been part of Canada’s natural heritage and ecosystem. Moose, caribou, wapiti, and deer are both artistic inspiration and living cultural heritage for First Nation peoples, and also for nature lovers. This interactive exhibit explains their biological makeup, their role in the ecosystem, and the dangers they face.

Gisèle and Monique Benoît are well known personalities of wildlife art. Discover 14 magnificent cervidae paintings: caribou, moose, deer and wapiti.

A unique, glasses-free technology, exceptional images of the fjord, a dramatic immersive expedition… Experience a Journey into the Heart of the Saguenay Fjord!
Representations schedule (off season) : 10:00am, 11:45am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm, from Tuesdays to Fridays. Saturdays and Sundays, every 40 minutes.

Throughout the summer season, many outdoor animations are presented at the Musée du Fjord! Enjoy these outdoor excursions and learn about minerals, botany, fauna, or the Fjord’s history, accompanied by enthusiastic guides.
